I Have A Question
If society as a whole,
with all it’s variety
and it’s colourful diversity,
is stripped of the greater foundation
every individual is based on,
down to all these ripped apart bricks
and those way to tiny sticks,
Would I exist the way I do?
Myself?
Would there even be such a thing?
Am I just the product of the influence
of a building?
By the way: If others are thoughts
of a big, recondite mastermind,
Am I an illusion of a living being
for all the others, too?

To be completely honest, even after having read it several times until now, this one still reminds me (and probably forever will) of the title screen of an arcade console game.
The poem itself is like the inside view of the author’s head, with thoughts and memories of all kind flashing through his head at a ridiculous speed, which made it quite challenging for me to drain the essence or the idea behind the writing process out of it.

Years after having watched
this way too cheesy movie
for the very first time,
I ask myself
is it really OK to lose?
To get your victory stolen
away only a second
before achieving it?
In fact, my dad back then
just taught me
to wait for the sequel
when the black screen
fades into the colorful,
brutal world, where he
once had lost his fight.
Because, in case you lose:
Normal boring guys may
never get their own story,
but J-CVD can’t always
spawn straight out of nowhere
and wipe out every
little effort with a split.
Speaking of spawning,
my kill/death ratio has
noticeably suffered.
Better get back
focusing on my console
and yell at my new ”dad”.

Pure obsession, drives this mad-man!
What could possibly be strong enough
to get one addicted to not only killing,
but escaping from death’s claws over and over again?
Is it the longing for strength itself?
The simple need for another adrenaline rush,
like a junkie fantasizing about his next shot?
Does he want to proof anything to someone?
Does he actually enjoy that pain?
